New A2 1.4i in the house

Hello,
I'm from Portugal and I recently got a Green 2001 A2 1.4 petrol. It has 140k kms, (90k miles?), 16" wheels, beige/light grey interiors and lots of dirt!
It's second hand (obviously) and it has a couple os issues soon to be resolved.:mad:

- Remote command unlocks only drivers door, and boot. All other doors only open after unlocking them inside the car.
- Handbrake lever and gear knob loose, so need to replace them both
- Few scratches on the rims
- No windshield washer cap, i imagine this one is quite cheap
- Missing a jack cover point cap on the right side
- A dent on the windshield which I just found out today:mad::mad:

Apart from it my wife is loving it, and so am, quite easy do drive.

Eager to learn a lot in these forums.
 
Hello and welcome! They don't have screen wash filler caps; one less part to buy! Brilliant cars aren't they! :)

The settings on your car can be changed.
Yours is set up to work the doors that way, it is deliberate.
It is to ensure that nobody can jump in the car and hijack it when you get in.
If you press the unlock button twice instead of once then all doors will unlock.

You would need to find someone with the correct cable to do the adjustment (of a dealer of course) if you want to change it.

But some people prefer it to be set up that way (once they discover that it is a design option and pressing twice unlocks all doors anyway.)

Thank you very much both.

Posting some photos as soon as possible, specially a before and after in detailing interior section. (again it's a used car, in interior is beige and looks like a garbage dump yuck)
