Hi all,
have just bought a lovely red 2004 1.6 FSi.
Been hankering after an A2 for years and the old (P reg) honda civic has just died, so perfect excuse.
A2 is low mileage (66k) and the body is pretty immaculate but i think it hasn't been particularly well maintained - the inlet manifold (with the throttle flaps) got replaced and it's all rather coked up & I think they fitted new coil packs/plugs before i was happy with it.
Slightly lumpy idle, but it goes like stink once the revs are up. Have put a tank of 98 RON and some Wynn's injector cleaner in the tank to see if that helps before I go down any more serious routes.
Once I've got a manual (erwin/elsa?) and a VAG-COM tool, I'll be able to give it a proper service and change the cam belt, just to be on the safe side.
Also need a new parcel shelf, engine cover (the one which hides the coil packs), under engine tray (if it makes any difference) and a spare key. The ABS light came on a couple of times yesterday, but seems to have stopped, so maybe there's a dodgy wire somewhere.
