Hi folks, just a quick intro as a newbie to the site. Really impressed with the detail of responses on threads & the overall feel of the site.
Reduncancy (a relief) forced me to search for a car & I didn't want to spend too much. Searched for 3 weeks and saw dog after dog & then spotted a 1.6 FSI Clr Storm at Cheerywood Cars Redditch; great service there. 2003, 94k, FSH, just serviced, 1yr Mot, Warranty & in great nick too all for £1500. So quite chuffed. A few niggles, Engine manangement light on, but diagnostics say sticking flap or leaky hose in the manifold and an easy fix by all accounts, which garage are sorting. Changing out front disks and pads with Pagids from ECP (31% off) and probably new clutch after Crimbo. Worn bush on gearbox torsioner apparently that garage is sorting also, bit of engine lunge when changing gear.
Apart from that a corker & great fun to drive. Looking forward to sharing ideas.
Cheers, Ade
