This would be my doing I contacted them last week and should be delivered tomorrow.

From when I enquired about it, to when it showed up on their site took all of 10 mins.

I know, I talk to Martyn frequently - he provides us with a good service!

I'd be very interested to know how easy it is to fit and if the end result is an improvement...

Not much joy from Dealer or Audi customer service re retro fit wiper assembly , so would be very interested to hear if it is a direct replacement for the original. It can't be rocket science to fit. Will be looking closely on this forum for the info from someone who has fitted one, then I will order one from Martyn.

Good stuff !

I've just sent Martyn an e-mail asking if he'll sell the heated mirrors for A2 also. Johann informs me that all A2s are already pre-wired for heated mirrors and just need them swopped over.

This is also the same for the Cruise control, you only need to fit the stalk and enable the software, all the wirring is there..

Shezlee is going to be the first person receiving the wiper conversion kit and has offered to produce a fitting guide which I will show on the A2OC website for everyone to access.

If anyone else fits anything to their A2 and wants to produce some form of guide for everyone to benefit from, then please send it to me and I will include it online.

Iam intrested in the mirrors?? would like to know how you get on..

The second depends on the year of build, those built before June/July 2002 may not have the wiring but those after this date will.. Dealer statement..

Just fitted the heated mirror glass to my a2 in the dark (supposed to be a frost this morning and I wanted to check them out, too impatient). Took about 5 mins per side and the power cables are neatly coiled in the mirror housing. Very easy to fit, just need a bit of a push to get the old glass off)
Philips Vison Plus bulbs took a bit longer (last weekend) as had to unbolt lights to replace the bulbs. tip.. mark on the garage door dipped centres with tape before putting lights back on. Makes it easier to adjust should they be slightly out when re-fitted.Waiting for wiper conversion from Vagparts (ordered this week Martyn expecting them on Saturday 22nd). Audi garage had blade but no arm apparently couple weeks back ordered. I'll let the forum know how I get on.

Cheers

Ray.....

PS Torx screws on lights and mirrors

Have ordered wiper and mirrors from VAG. Am considering fogs and cruise. Also fitting rear speakers soon.

I have the wiper now stupidly enough I never thought about it that you on the UK drive on the other side of the road and one of the vew parts who is different is the wiper.
So if I cant change it with VAG parts I have one unused for sale.

Brack - if you get/fit the fogs, would you be able to produce a guide of some sort and send it to me?

Thanks,

Stuart.

Are you sure you had to remove the light unit? I just changed my headlights this morning in about 20 minutes, including walking over to the shop and buying the bulbs. Just remove the rear plate, pull the wires off the bulb, and fiddle about with the catch. I think if you push it sideways into the middle of the car it comes out. Admittedly, this is the hardest part, but once you realise there is a small curled over part at the top of the clip, it doesn't take long to do. The difficulty is that you can't see in there, so you have to do everything by feel alone until you know what is where.

Then, just insert the new H7 with the tab upright, fasten the clip, and push the wire on. It then takes a few seconds to reseat the light cover and clip that back on.

I always put my bonnet inside the car, across the seats, if I need it off for any reason, although don't try to close the door cos it's too wide :)

Suffolk is more dangerous than you think...

I to had to remove the light unit as I could not remove the back plate (neither could the dealer) there is a bracket behind the light unit on mine and gets in the way.

Lee,

there is now a word document template I did for Stu for installation guides on the web site now: http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/guides.htm.

Give it a whirl and let me know if you have any issues.
