Non starter

I 'drove' my TDi back from the garage earlier, and it stalled. Managed to get it started again, and then it stalled again just outside my house & wouldn't re-start. The garage had been fitting new discs & pads and a new fuel filter. The mechanic is coming back in the morning to try and sort it. Any suggestions in the meantime?

air leak in the fuel system caused by the change of fuel filter
If its the latter plastic fuel filter then likely the drain screw has been fractured, allow air into the fuel system and likely fuel leaking from the bottom of the filter.
If it is the drain screw then I can supply a machines aluminium screw at far less than you will pay for a complete fuel filter housing (the screw was never provided as a spare part)
drop me a PM if the drain screw is needed

have you tried adding more fuel to the car? if that works, then you probably have a sludge build up in the fuel sender unit

All sorted now. Car waiting outside. Goes like a dream. Going to use some injector cleaner in it now that the fuel filter doesn't look like it's been dipped in tar.
