Oil SENSOR light on DIS

This came on for about 20 seconds along with a loud ping warning noise two days ago - then the light went out and it has not returned. The car went in for it's first major service (oil and filter change) about a 2 weeks back. I supplied the dealer with all the parts and 5 litres of the special VAG approved longlife oil - but got about 3/4 litre returned - I thought it needed 4.5 litres?

Stopped and checked the dip stick right away - no problems there.

Any ideas?

It won't all come out when being drained.
eVEN IF YOU FLUSH SOME OF THE OLD STUFF STAYS IN!

any ideas on the sensor warning? Is it part of the oil filter housing and could it have been moved / knocked during servicing? All other warnings have stayed on until fixed - this one is very intermittent and stays on for around 2 mins max before going out again - usually when car is cold.

Do you still have access to A2 servce manuals? appreciate your advice
