Hi Guys,

we just discovered a rip in the net that comes up as wind / fly protection when the open sky roof is open.
There are actually two rips one on either side about a cm from the corner; both about 2cm long.
Have any of you had this problem and do you know if its covered under guarantee??
Does anyone know if the whold open sky system has to be replaced in order to replace the net??

Wish you all a good weekend.

Hi Thomas / Michelle,

When my skyroof stuck in the past I had to push it up through the net, dislodging it in the process. When I took the car into the dealer to fix the roof, they refitted the net at the same time. It took them a full day to remove the roof, realign the runners and refit the net, and since it was a mechanical failure it was all under warranty.
Now I am assuming you tore your net in a similar way ;), so you could also get your dealer to take a look at it. Hot weather has a strange effect on glass roofs ;)
If this doesn't work, then you could just remove it - if my memory serves me right, didn't Johann remove his fly screen completely?

Yes I removed my net totally to get more sun in... that was very easy to remove and I would suspect as easy to refit... so there is one (dirty) fully intact net now in my loft!

Here's the guide how to that shows how wonderful it looks AFTER the deletion...:)

Ummmm, If I'm reading Michelle and Thomas's post correctly, it is the small black net at the front of the roof that 'pops-up' when the roof opens that has ripped, and not the sunshade?
