We now have an A2 in the family once more [24]
All delivered present and correct just before lunch.

The only thing we need to look into is the colour of the steering wheel, gear stick gaiter & handbrake lever. We asked for the controls pack (in conjunction with leather) but we only seem to have half of it - matching carpets and door handles.

I'm a bit confused as we phoned up the car supplier when ordering to specify the controls pack, only to be told that it will come with it anyway. After speaking to said supplier this morning, they have no record of the controls pack anywhere - but we still have half a pack [?]

Other than that tho', well pleased. The Ebony Black paint really shines well in the sun and the interior looks bright without being OTT. I'm just glad I can now drive to work once again having now regained control my the Passat;).

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.

Hi Rob,

Congratulations!!!!!! Remind me - did you have the sports seats? Is the steering wheel in red leather also?

Kaine

The seats are standard SE spec, not sport seats.

The steering wheel is 4 spoke in black leather. It should be 4 spoke in red leather. I have been to Audi this afternoon and costed up the 3 items I would like to have in Red - the steering wheel @ £230, the gear lever gaiter @ £51 and the handbrake grip @ £28. So approx £300 for the parts, then Audi want £80/hr for maybe 2 hours to fit the stuff.

The steering wheel is the only one I'm unsure of doing myself due to airbags etc - any thing to save a bit of money.

I thought the extra red bits come with the sports seats (well, they did when we bought ours). Also from memory, we couldn't have the multifunction steering wheel with the sports interior either.
We originally ordered sports seats, however after ordering I found a pic of the interior on the Audi France site and lost my bottle - I changed my spec the next day. When we ordered ours, we had never seen the red leather interior - in hindsight I wish we had them - looks great.

In the A2 price list, under the option for Pearl Nappa leather is the option for Control Pack. This consists of matching leather wheel, geat gaiter & handbrake grip. Also the carpets are edged in the same colour and the door arm rests are colour coded.
We have the last 2 items - we wanted all 5 from the outset. Hence why my modding is starting so soon.
Incidentally Kaine, your A2 was the first one we'd seen with Red leather (along with Kit Lewis' at the Kent social) and were quite taken with it back then - just never knew we'd have one so soon.

Shaf, I have to admit that I was washing the car within an hour of delivery, closely followed by a dose of Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection - superb stuff.
The car will probably never be as clean again, so it was time to get the camera out!

I don't blame you Rob, good on ya. It's only ever right when you've done it yourself. The day I picked mine up it was chucking it down and ditto for the day I picked up my first A2. On that first one within an hour I was travelling on the motorway when a boulder (well it looked like one) bounced off the back of a tipper lorry and was heading for my windscreen, it hit the bonnet just above the vents, chipped and dented it, I was well gutted.

Rob, looks even better in the flesh, the leather is a lovely shade of red, not as bright as I thought it would be, very in keeping with the car, marque etc.
