Following on from the earlier topic, we have been to the bodyshop to remove all our remaining items from the car and say goodbye.

Looking round the car it was amazing how little damage there actually seemed. All it looked like was glass, some small dents and paintwork.

Also, if you have the Open-Sky, rest easy as the pictures show it held up very well.

My wife said "have you noticed , it's a red one". I told you she's got a thing about red cars!.

My Father-in-law is the same. He says red cars cause accidents, since after 40 years of driving (site inspector, hence always on the road) he 'claims' that nearly every accident he saw involved a red car. Strange but true (according to my father-in-law, who I have to believe always) ;)

I have no idea why my wife does not like red cars, she wouldnt have a red Ferrari as a gift (there could be a major family row when I'm offered one). We've had almost every colour since my first car, but never a red. We had a red motor bike once, that was a load of trouble.
 
True, you couldnt sell a green car a few years ago. Now nobody wants to buy a yellow one secondhand. My wife picked the green, the deal was that I pick the inside she picks the outside, I get the feeling she picked them both.
 
Roof damaged (metal not glass) generally means instant write off. A Pillar and roof rail knackered in your photo.

I've heard about green cars-had a Cavalier once....engine blew up so hard a little boy came up to me and said "there's a bit of it over there".....

Dude - glad to see youre ok, sorry about the car though.

Hate to sound mercenary - but are you able to tell me where the car is as I am looking for a written off one for some parts - so would be good to find out where it is being broken.
 
It's actually at a bodyshop at the mo. It will probably be moved to a breakers/salvage yard in the next few days.

The bodyshop is Whitehouse Paint & Body in Crayford, Kent. They may be able to tell you the final resting place.

My first A2 was written off in March. Now in the hands of the insurance company, after being released at last by the police, (scroll down below Rob Earl's story at http://www.audi-a2.co.uk/safety.htm for details), the last I heard it was going to H Gorner Ltd, Ashton-in-Makerfield, near Wigan prior to being sent for scrap.

Had a letter from the solicitors the other day confirming that full responsibilty for the accident has been admitted by the other party.
We knew we had a pretty good case but it's still nice (and relieving) to see it in writing.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.

Bye bye little red A2
Red i know form past experience carries a bad omen for me since the red car i had previous had everything happen to it .
But at least the a2 did its job by protecting life!

There sure has been one hell of a lot of form filling and letter writing and phone calls. Thank God for the little bit extra on Motor Legal Protection I paid on my insurance. Hope Kim and yourself are fully recovered soon, and that all your legal issues are soon resolved.
