Recent appearance of the orange engine warning light (emission control) led me to use my generic OBDII bluetooth adaptor with the android version of Torque diagnostics
The P0118 code was thrown up so I guess I can be reasonably confident that I need to replace the G62 temp sensor.
From the threads that I have read it seams a tricky item to replace and an initial inspection looks to me as if it is a blind one handed activity. I believe I am looking at the correct sensor!
This is a 1.4tdi ( BHC 2004) and I am looking at the back of the engine block at the gearbox end (i.e. between engine and bulkhead on nearside/passenger side rhd vehicle)
I have noted comments (especially Steve B) about using only a genuine VAG replacement (£40 +vat) because of problems with ebay ones. So many of the ebay ones claim to be genuine Audi OEM. Does anyone have a good experience with any particular ebay supplier for these sensors?
How do you gain access to the connector to release it when working blind?
I have searched all related threads, very few seem to be the tdi and I have found no pictures.
Any tips are welcome
