Believe lowest width tyre on a 6j rim is 175 you Could be compromising the sidewalls with those tyres.Hi , recently installed '15 Pepperpot forged alloys' without tyre the 15inch alloy weighs around 5.6kg on my scales and with 165 65 R15 winter tyre they are around the 13.1kg mark. The A2 16 SE 6 spoke alloy with slightly wider tyre 185 50 R16 is 16.6kg and I also have RS4 A2 Sport 17' alloy with wider still at 205 45 R17, they come in at 19.1Kg alloy / tyre each. But as Bretti_Kivi advised the tyres will add some variance to the combined weights. When changing alloys the pepperpots are noticably lighter!

I was going from this, if it works it works thou I certainly bend the rules a touch generally!
The aspect ratio or (sidewall depth in layman's terms) has nothing to do with a tyre being the correct width for a certain size rim. That chart is oversimplified as it doesn't take into account the aspect ratio, so it's recommendations are often wrong.
That chart says that a 205 can be fitted to a 6J rim, yet a 205/45 needs at least a 6.5J rim, and a 205/40 needs at least a 7J rim.
That chart says that the maximum tyre size for a 6J rim is 205, yet the VAG group are currently selling some cars with a 225/60R16 fitted to a 6J rim.
The chart says that the maximum tyre size for a 7J rim is 225, yet the VAG group are currently selling a car with a 235/55R18 fitted to a 7J rim. You can even fit a 235/55 to an even narrower 6.5J rim.
ETRTO approved rim widths
205/45 6.5-7.0-7.5
205/40 7.0-7.5-8.0
225/60 6.0-6.5-8.0
235/55 6.5-7.5-8.5
The aspect ratio has nothing to do with a tyre being the correct width for a certain size rim.
There are so many other factors to what tyres and tyre sizes are fit onto certain wheels on certain cars (their intended use, vehicle weight, cost etc) but if you look back you will see that this thread wasn't even about tyre sizes, it was simply someone asking the weight of a Pepperpot wheel with a tyre fitted. As you can see in the chart below, there are four different minimum rim widths for the below 205 tyre sizes. The same principle applies to all other tyre widths. Clearly, it does matter what the aspect ratio is in determining suitable rim widths.
ETRTO approved rim widths
205/70 5.0-6.0-7.0
205/65 5.5-6.0-7.5
205/60 5.5-6.0-7.5
205/55 5.5-6.5-7.5
205/50 5.5-6.5-7.5
205/45 6.5-7.0-7.5
205/40 7.0-7.5-8.0
Car manufacturers never sell a car with a tyre and rim combination that isn't approved by ETRTO. For example, you will never find a new car sold with a 205/45 tyre fitted to a 6J rim. Common sense won't tell you this. You need to look in an ETRTO tyre and rim manual.
