So why do we have to wait "a few days" to get a password??

Alex.

BTW Ade, the locking thing on my A2 didn't work quite right. It locks all the doors but not the boot.

hmmm... mine locks everything including the boot...

I picked my daughter up from school today. She threw her bag in the boot, but couldn't open the door.

Ade, can you remember if you did anything different with mine (mine was the first one done on Sunday)

Guys, I'm away on business this week....I'd love to do this all the time but sadly I do have a real job!! [29]
So that is the reason I haven't sent out the password yet, I had some time to make these changes last night before I went to the hotel and so I went ahead with it figuring that no one would miss the protected sections for a couple of days. I should have put a posting up explaining this so apologies for this.

The reason I have done this is so that anyone can join and participate in the main sections of the forum whilst keeping the specific club sections separate for only members to use. It also reduces the administrative work for me as I don't need to create or maintain users profiles anymore, people can join themselves at any time and as soon as they join the club, I can just issue them with a password.

My flight lands late tonight and have the day off tomorrow so will send it out tomorrow morning.

By the way, when I made this change yesterday, the no of members was 238, so you can see that already 7 new people have joined up! :D

Mine also locks everything, including the boot. Weird, as the same code was used on ALL cars on Sunday (apart from the two people who wanted the selective unlocking on the driver door first).....

Can everyone check?

I would love to try this toy on our car.
What do you do use a PC/Laptop and connect it with a data cable the sort of way I got the simlock of my Nokia or is this completly different?
As i once found a diagnosis program from the VAG group on the internet which worked under windows I downloaded it and found a crack to remove all the nags etc.
Is this the same kind of stuff if so what kind of data cable do you use and how do you conect it?

The change is supposed to lock all doors and boot when you go over a certain speed. To test this you need to start driving wait for them to autolock. Then stop and with the ignition still on/engine running if you want get out of your door by pulling the handle twice and go around and try all the doors and boot to see if they're locked. They all should be.

I get prompted every time I move between forums. I also get prompted every time I revisit the site. I shall try this at home tonight, but this doesn't seem to work from my work PC.

Are you sure?
To get into the 'A2OC Socials' section I was asked for the password. I entered it, came into the section and then left and went somewhere else. When I clicked on 'A2OC Socials', it didn't ask me for a password. This is how it should work.

It will ask for you for the password the first time you enter all the club section categories. Is this what you are referring to?

Have checked mine now and it only locks the four doors and not the boot.

I often put my laptop in the boot on the way home from work, so either way I need to press the lock button still.

Ade - do you know if there any fix to this via the tool, or is it just life?

Mmm, just returned from hols so I'll look into it. Perhaps it might be something to do with the bit 4 we couldn't understand and perhaps it needs the 'Avant' setting? I'll try and see what happens.
