Porsche Wheels

Looking to get a set of Porsche D90s for the car. Would i have any problems fitting 7x15 at the front and 8x15 for the back? What tyres should I put on it?

Check your offset, my rear axle moved 5mm and my stock tyres were rubbing the wheel housing so there isn't much room to play with at the rear, at the front you have around 3mm of tolerance in my experience or you will chop through your abs cables like I did... whoops!!!

The wheels are ET20. The adaptors are 25mm each side.

Hello A2_SAT,

no that won’t work regrettably. At an effective offset of –5 per wheel you would’ve to attach custom made wider wheel arches covering the tyre thread.

Please also check this post I made covering uncommon wheel sizes. You will notice feasible offsets ranging between 30 and 20.

So if you can find your favourite wheels featuring an offset of about 55 to 45, you will be able to use them together with adaptor spacers successfully. Just look for a final offset between 30 and 20 if you intend to use 7 or 8" rims. However modding the inner arches will be necessary most likely especially if you don’t use additional bump stopps (avoid them if possible).

Regarding tyre sizes, I personally would combine 195/55R15 + 7x15 for the front axle and 215/50R15 + 8x15 for the rear axle because circumferences are nearly identical and are quite optimal at about 1810mm.

P.S. Generally it's not advisable to adjust the offset of the front wheels below 30 to 28, because steering control will suffer then.

Darn, I'll need to look for another set of wheels then. Jus want a nice set of deep dish wheels to slot straight on without any hassle.

Well how ’bout these?

Schmidt Space 8x16ET30 for A2

rim: Space-1-tlg
Audi A2 Typ 8Z
front axle: 8Jx16H2 ET30
rear axle: 8Jx16H2 ET30
possible tyre size: 195/45, 205/45, 215/40
part #: 8016S+30EKS

No adaptor spacers needed here, ready to mount (but inner wheel arches to be modified which is not much work).

Or these:

Schmidt TH-Line

These are available in a large variety of diameters and many different widths. I would check 5x100 availablity for the following sizes for instance:

Front: 7x15ET35 to ET28 or 7.5x15ET35 to ET28
Rear: 7.5x15ET35 to ET25 or 8x15ET32 to ET20

Front: 7x16ET35 to ET28 or 7.5x16ET35 to ET28
Rear: 7.5x16ET35 to ET25 or 8x16ET32 to ET20

Hmm, The Schmidt TH-Lines are nice. Seen a set of TH-Monos for sale for £400 in 7x16 and 5x100 fitment. Only downside is that they are in pretty poor condition. Would need to be refurbed ASAP. Anyway, I'll see what happens with the car and if I sell it or not.
