If you are going to invest in lots of retrofit mods then try and source one with a double DIN dash which will enable you to instal Audi RNS - e sat nav, otherwise it's a dashboard swap ( which in theory is doable).
 
Take a look at my signature as to what can be retro-fitted if you have the time,inclination and budget!
 
I have quite a few of those too that were not standard on mine and would like a few more such as twin tone, seat heating and MFSW. However budgetry constraints and the OH desire to get a 'new' car next year have drawn a line under further work for now!
 
I would say I think the key is to find a good example of a well-maintained A2 - given their age and mileages these days, that's' the most important thing. Spec can be added later.
 
Well,

I have my eye on two cars.

AN FSI SE on eBay which is low-ish miles (76k), appears to be well looked after, good condition, well priced but barren on spec.
And a FSI SE from Timmus on here, which is higher mileage (98k) but also appears to be good condition and higher on spec (all sport options plus others like double din and cruise) but is a little more expensive.

I buy on condition, not mileage so I'm probably better looking at both really. Hmmmmm... What to do..
