Rear swing arm bushes Rear Axle bracket oem: 8Z0501541 compatible with 1J0501541C?

I want to change the rear arm bushes AND... the part is no longer available.

When searching I stumbled upon another OEM part number 1J0501541C. It seems that on older febi bilstein bushes this was the code.

Does anyone now if it is compatible?

This part might be compatible too 6Q0501541E.

The 1J seems the same size except for the screw hole (11 vs 12)

answer:

I successfully installed the MEYLE 1147100001/S. (I used the nuts from the kit, in my case the original bolts were fine but the nuts were rusted).
The main difference is the main hole. The original bushing have one solid metal - the new ones have a star like design - I guess for the bolts not to rust in place. Maybe the rubber is a bit stiffer but this only helps.

In my case the car had the original bushings...so 20 years old. It was a real pain to take out.

The oem code for the bolts is: N 90710501 (in case you need new ones - only oem available and affordable)

Thanks to @RAB and @carlston for help with codes.

Here is a picture with the new bushing after instalation.

It seems to be that the ID of 8Z0501541 is 12mm while that of 1J0501541C is 11mm.

Found this thread: they discuss in depth details about the bushings. Unfortunately google translate is little hard to understand

and other discusions here:

I believe any of the next codes should be adaptable.

Audi tradition seems to still have the bushings BUT 46 euros without shipping.
6Q0501541E seems much stronger

Any idea which one would be...better to start with?

It can't be 11mm because the bolt that goes through this hole is M12 as shown in the chart below.

I suggest you try 1J0501541C

It is so weird...the same part number specify different internal diameters depending on the manufacturer...or ...is there anything different in part number?

11 mm does not bother me...A 12 mm bore is cheap:)) Not sure if the metal used in the bussing ishard or not.
Thanks for your help.

Found this:
Apparently there are at least 2 types of bushings and one of them is "Hydraulic bonded rubber bush" and funny enough i've seen this one available trough the codes listed above.

I will order the parts today. unfortunately not all manufacturers post the inner bore size:(.

Bushings that have 12mm axle:

MEYLE 114 710 0001

MEYLE 1147100001/S --with screws - not sure it is the right length thou.

DELPHI TD655W
MOOG VO-SB-0042

I will order the meyle ...I personally do not like this brand but it's decent.

The next issue is the bolt - I am pretty sure this is the main issue. The a2 seems much longer than what comes in the replacement kit.

@carlston any idea about the bolt? I cannot find the length for it anywhere (elsaWin specifies only...that is a bolt:))).

Later edit:
Aparently the bolt from the meyle kit seems to be the right size - I will confirm after the parts arrive.

The bolt is here (part no. 11):

oem no: N90710501
The bolt costs around 6 euros/piece.
I ordered 4....not sure it will be available next year.

N90710501 is a common bolt, so there's no need to order more than you need. It's not exclusive to the Audi A2.

You can see some of the other vehicles that this bolt is used on in the chart below, including the VW Crafter and VW LT. It's used for jobs such as holding the rear leaf springs on these commercial vehicles. It is identical because it has the same OEM part number.

As you can see in the charts below, the Audi A2 bolt with OEM part number N90710501 is also used on the VW Crafter and VW LT and has a specification of M12x1.5x175x90.

Replaced all the bushings.

The rear ones were a pain...to take out...around 40 50 minutes.
The MEYLE 1147100001/S fit perfectly.
The only difference is the middle part - it is not one solid round piece - I guess the new ones are modified so that the bolt will not rust into place.

I used the nuts from the mentioned kit. The original bolts on the car were in good condition but the nuts were rusted so I replaced them with the new ones from the kit. The bolts from kit do not fit - you have to buy bolts separately (but the price for the kit is the same as buying separately without bolt and nuts).

The car it much better in corners now. A bit stiffer but cannot expect much from so small tires. The suspensions were changed last year (I used the Bilstein alternative to the alu oem )

Thanks for the codes. I ordered only the bolts separately. The new bushings work great.

8Z0501541 are back in stock at Audi tradition for anyone looking for these rear axle bushes. Pricey at €49 each but there is absolutely no other aftermarket alternative available except for going with the Polo PN 1J0501541C like titusm did.

I had bought Lemforder 27627 01 (1J0501541C) and was going to fit those but now I just nabbed 8Z0501541 from Audi Tradition. I will compare the OE bush to the Lemforder and see if there is any noticeable difference other than the solid center on the OE bush.
