Hi all,
I've had an annoying problem that seems to have coincided with my local garage fitting a new handbrake button. First couple of times they tried it, the handbrake ratchet wouldn't engage as the lever was pulled up- it just dropped down again to the floor. Eventually, they got it right and the ratchet clicks normally as the lever is pulled up, but I watched the guy prising the black plastic grip on and off and I wasn't happy with the pretty brutal way he forced it off and on each time.
Anyway, they appeared to have fixed it. However, around the same time, I started getting a red circle warning light on the dash as soon as I drove the car forward. Reversing the car off the drive was aok. As soon as I went forward within a few feet I got the red circle up on the dash, with the three beeps and a slight 'clonk' that felt like the brakes have been slightly applied.
It's been that way ever since. The car is fine, but I've got the yellow ABS showing at the same time.
Any idea's anyone?
