This was my car in June of last year when someone smashed into it when parked on the pavement outside my house during the first lockdown.
I had to try and save her as I have spent roughly £2000 a year during my 6 years of ownership keeping her in the best condition possible.

The insurance paid me £2000 to write her off under category ‘S’ and i bought the salvage back from them for £400.
After being inspected by Marcus up at WOM and given the all clear to be repaired, finally today she is ready to be collected. Excited!! you bet I am! I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel and drive her again she really is something special to me.

So many, many thanks to the guys up at WOM Automotive for their valuable time, expertise, many spare parts and TLC that they have lavished on her on my behalf.
They really are THE only place to take your A2 if it needs the best of anything, thanks so much guys you are truly the best in the country, in my humble opinion, at looking after our aluminium extended family.
All the very best to you both.
Thanks a million.
Drew

Many happy more years of ownership to come. Lets hope Cat S does not devalue your lovely car too much. They have done a wonderful job obviously at a price and probably far more than you received from hopefully the third parties insurance.
ENJOY....

I would say that the state of the lower wishbone confirms that they are forged steel. I'll confeess to not knowing how (investment) cast steels behave under that sort of scenario.
The car got lucky with a glancing blow, not a fun thing to come out to view :(

I saw your car when I visited WOM earlier this year, and was impressed with progress.

They have been busy with the polisher to get them scratches out ;)

A great result to see your prized A2 rescued and restored Drew. A great testament to your personal conviction and vision to see the car returned to former glory and to Rob and Marcus for their professional conduct in producing the results.

It is a great end to a tragic story and shows what is possible when bringing together a community of like-minded members and professionals within an umbrella such as A2OC. Another one saved too.

Drew,

The A2 looks great sir. Rob and Marcus have really done a fabulous job here. Nice to meet you earlier at WOM and hope to catch up again soon.

Kind regards,

Tom

Good news Drew

Please update us with photos of the finished article.
You lot will be the second to know.
After me being first of course.

Thank you all, for your lovely comments and observations regarding my cherished cars misfortune.

She was far far too good to be scrapped or broken up into pieces. I’m so very glad we (they) could save her from that.
All the best,
Drew.
