Thanks! But I wouldn't recommend an FSI engine unless you have studied very well the model's behavior through the years and you're lucky enough to choose the less stressed you'll come by when the time comes to buy it! If you know somebody that can make a trustworthy judgement, consult him before you put your hand in the pocket! An FSI also requires many modifications in order to work on a previously 1.4 car.. Be extra careful with this! Good luck!Wow!! You really did put a lot of work and money into that car.
When I thought about improving the A2 I check the remapping option but it looks like you don't get much out of an 1.4 petrol engine. I also checked the 6 speed gearbox, but again the 1.4 has not enough torque for that. So that's when I thought about a bigger engine but my budget is far more limited so I think I'll keep with what I have until I find a good offer for an 1.6 fsi.
Enjoy your car!!!

Ok, so what would you recommend? 1.4 tdi 90cv?
Thanks!
Hi, sorry if I missed something, but would it be possible to swap the AUA with a BCB and run it on factory AUA wiring? If not, what would be needed? Seems like a easy way to gain 200cc of torque..?I have replaced the AUA with the BCB engine 1.6L 16V (105ps) and is getting tuned as well. In fact, I believe we have done on this motor almost anything (beryllium valve seats, special LPG valves, increased compression ratio, stage 2 cams, air flow remodeling, a metallic polo gti intake manifold, hand made inox exhaust etc) that can be done except for custom made pistons, since for that "low" PS it's really not needed. Many mods have been made in the process. Now we're fixing all the electrical stuff. Our goal is to get a stable outcome at or close 140 PS out of this atmospheric motor.
see threads from @celsisone who undertook almost exactly this conversion - AUA to AUB, to AUB head with BCB bottom end, and is now installing a 1.8T 20V engine.Hi, sorry if I missed something, but would it be possible to swap the AUA with a BCB and run it on factory AUA wiring? The short answer is yes .see threads from @celsisone who undertook almost exactly this conversion - AUA to AUB, to AUB head with BCB bottom end, and is now installing a 1.8T 20V engine.
