Information Rubber boot under gear lever

I was cleaning the car & just happend to lift up the gear gator only to find the rubber boot was crumbling away so my question is can they be replaced if so where from?? Cheers

dealer will be about the only source, and I'd recommend replacing it to avoid issues with stuff dropping into the mechanism.

The rubber tunnel damper (which is what is sounds like you need) is 8Z0 863 875 B and about £30 + VAT

Have you tried VW as they have the same engine maybe the same gearbox! Worth enquiring someone here may know

I tried vw first as I ordered my gearbox oil from them but he said that part number came up with nothing!

Ref item 26 on this parts diagm - http://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+a2/a2/2002-248/8/863-863060/ - it ties in with the number provided by Jeff.
It's an A2 part so if not used on other VAG models, may only be available from an Audi dealer. That's assuming it is not actually obsolete.
