Hi folks.

Does anyone know if there are any of the new range of run flat tyres available that'll fit the standard SE Six spoke alloy wheels?

I'd be most grateful if someone else has already undertaken the research....I'm guessing due to the unusual size that the answer will be no....

Finger's crossed!

Goodyear make a run flat Goodyear EMT, but not in A2 SE sizes. Most of the run flats seem to be for 205 and 225 widths.

Pirelli do one in 205/45 17 (fitted to Minis) but they state:

Can Pirelli run flat be fitted on any car? Are there any limitations?
-Yes, you can fit Pirelli run flat tyres on any car as long as it is equipped with an air pressure warning system in working order.

So it appears no.

There was a letter in this week's Sunday Times from an irate A2 owner who was informed there were no A2 size tyres in the country following a blow out.

Thanks Dave.

So would the Pirellis fit the standard SE 16" alloys?

I noticed (it was on 5th Gear) that they mentioned that one of the systems needed sensors retro fitted within the wheel/tyre combination but that this was possible.

Sounds like we'll have to hold fire before getting the chance to upgrade in this way....shame as it would be great for us folks without a spare wheel....
