What format do they normally come in? You should be able to open almost any document format natively with the 'Preview' app that's part of OSX

p.s. would be interested in a manual like this myself, should such a thing exist for the 1.4 petrol!

Can you not run ELSAWIN with a virtualised Windows XP machine or something?
Alternatively do you not have WINE or similar to run Windows applications on a Mac?

i'm a bit behind on all that kinda stuff, i dont really want windows on the mac tbh due to the viruses it attracts.... tempted by some of the softwares avalable though just not really looked into it, would be handy as vagcom isnt supported via mac and wont be....

your easiest option is use the web link above or use the official https://erwin.audi.com/ (paid access).

And the you're free to install bootcamp and run windows. If you're afraid the windows viruses will cross infect from a bootcamp partition or virtualised image, then you'll have to question anything that might be available for OSX as it is not going to be official/legal so you're equally opened to attacks. In that respect, keeping it all in a bootcamp, virtualbox, parallels or vmware partition is much safer. I used to run my vagcom off the bootcamp XP although I have not reinstalled it since I replaced XP with Win8.

richardaudi0, thanks a lot for the link didn't know that before and it can be handy when I'm in the office if I need to look up something, although all the hyperlinks that works in ElsaWin doesn't seem to be fully translated to the web version.

Virtualbox is excellent and is a self contained virtual machine that has no influence on the OSX host. Also the Windows virus link is too strongly claimed. As long as you do not do anything stupid it should not be a severe risk.
