I recently posted a query about my ABS lights coming up on dash after a flat tyre. Was advised to check ABS sensors for dirt / damage. All OK except front O/S. Looking at earlier threads on this subject I came across details of the Sport models 17" tyres rubbing on the ABS sensor wire and causing damage. Seems like this is the case. See photos.
Is this something any garage can fix at a reasonable cost??
Also, whilst checking the sensors, I noticed that the rear shock absorbers rubbers had worn and decayed leaving the plastic tubular cover free to move up and down on the shaft. This has occurred on both sides. See photos.
Again, any ideas on cost to fix anyone??
Thirdly, the front shocks seem to have a expandable plastic cover, this again seems to have come loose and is not attached to anything at the bottom end?
See photo.
Are these problems a current safety hazard or is it OK to run the car with these issues. I understand that while the ABS light has activated, I no longer have ABS or traction control, but i can temporarily cope with that???
Any help will be greatly appreciated......
