I've been think about why people only visit showrooms when they have to. Given the number forums and sites on the tinterweb and the number of magazines in WHSmiths on the subject we seem, as a nation, to have our fair share of people who seem interested in cars. Add to that the number of people who show a bit of brand loyalty isn't it a bit of a wasted opportunity to keep all that space empty around the new cars when it could be full of people?
If any one has been down to a motorbike show room at the weekend they'll know what I'm talking about. Theres usually a tv (with motorsport), coffee, vending machines etc loads of other enthusiasts talking to each other about bike stuff. The dealer sells tons of accessories and parts and even the odd new bike.
As punters convince themselves that they need the latest and greatest bits, they might even be able to get rid of a few salesmen.
Some of us might like to have spent last saturday night watching the Audis at Le Mans (Work kept me from the real thing) with a few other enthusiasts.
(I remember mentioning Le Mans in a stealers a couple of years back and they didn't know what I was talikng about!)
What do people think? Anyone from Audi listening?
Jonathan
