How easy is this to get to Tom?The A2 uses an A3 alarm sounder, so there’s definitely some parts sharing. Whether the Golf also uses the A3 unit, I don’t know.
There are two generations of alarm sounder used in the A2, but they’re cross-compatible.
Cheers,
Tom
Hi James,How easy is this to get to Tom?

Thanks Tom.Hi James,
It involves removing the large interior panel on the right-hand side of boot, which in turn requires the removal of other surrounding trim panels. So, the level of difficulty depends on your familiarity with this process. It's the kind of thing that I do on autopilot whilst holding conversation, but if you've not done it before, it'll require some studying and concentration on not breaking anything.
Cheers,
Tom
You're welcome. You know I'm just up the M6 from you, and happy to assist. Thanks Tom.

I’m obviously happy to help Danene as well.Any ideas?
Thanks for the feedback regarding the Mk4 Golf unit. Good to know. Its not the same unit as a Golf 4 btw. I have yet to put all the trim back in, but thats a way off as OSS repair and headlining are on the cards.
Hi Tom, I'll message youI’m obviously happy to help Danene as well.
If there is no 12V at your horn when the airbag is pushed, it could be any one of a variety of things (standard answer with almost all car problems!)... the horn plate in the steering wheel (unlikely), the relay (quite possible, but an uncommon failure) or the wiring.
Cheers,
Tom
