Someone vandalised my wing mirror

Hi Nise. Is it the complete mirror thats gone or just the glass?
From your description its sounds like its just the glass thats gone.
IF it is the glass then its good news. It just clips into place (literally press it into the hole and it clicks in).
The two wires are for power supply to the heated elements. Not all cars are fitted with heated glass for the mirrors, but ALL A2's have the wires there to provide power if fitted.

If you are swapping just the glass over then use a flat bladed implement (I used bike tyre lever covered in tape) to lever the glass out of the donor housing, it takes a little force, but will just pop out of its holder. Litterally a two minute job if you have the confidence to do it!

If the whole side mirror has gone (can't see how someone could steal it as it bolts on from the inside!) then just say so as these are also easy to fit.

Its the whole coloured part of the mirror! They proper went to town on it, so there is just the bottom part of the bracket and the wires remaining, so i have ordered a whole wing mirror for £50 off ebay to swap it with

Heck! They have gone to town on it!
They have likely snapped the wiring loom for the door mirror too.
I have lots of spares for passenger side door mirror, so could help supply if needed.
The mirror is held on by one bolt, to get to the wiring loom you need to remove the door card (3 torx bolts...plenty of guides on here).

Yeah they definitely went to town on it! I have had to order a silver one off ebay as looked everywhere and red seems to be a rarity, going to have to repaint it but know somebody who can!
