Information South West A2 Guru's

I was just wondering if there are any A2 Guru's that are based local to Wiltshire or surrounding counties.

I've got a few issues that I simply haven't got the time or the resources to sort out myself. Which is frustrating as I know I'd be able to sort them all over time but with work and family taking most of my time up I simply can't fit in any for the old girl.

List of faults:

CCCU is up the creak.
Areal is not giving any reception. I've not checked the boot yet...
A temp sensor causing a fault somewhere although I've not noticed anything due to the faulty CCCU.
Engine Managment light is on... Maybe down to the temp sensor being faulty?
Possible oil leak.
Tailgate trim didn't fit properly when I bought her so I looked into it and a lot of clips were missing. I've bought a new one but I'm struggling to get it to fit and stay. Possible distortion of the holes.

All of these faults are easy fixes but it's time and resources I haven't got to get them all sorted. So if anyone has any contacts of anyone who won't rip me off and do a pro job I'd be very greatful for any help.

Cheers,

Joey

How far do you want to travel max? MK1 too far?

The temp sensor is an easy swap and may fix the EML but it would be best to get the car scanned for codes to rule out other gremlins.

I've had the car scanned with a VAGCOM and have the print out. There was another fault that was a concern but that and the temp sensor were the only two faults that would cause any issues.

MK is a bit too far. I'm in Wilts near Salisbury. I don't really want to add fuel onto the cost of repairs.

How easy is the temp sensor to do exactly? Time wise?

Half hour to an hour?
Well, that's how long it took me. No screws, just a bit of fiddly. You need to replace lost coolant of course.

Ah hang on... I just checked my first post, the temp sensor I'm refering to is the AC temp sensor (Auto Correct changed is to just an A). I know what your on about and I've done that one already. Not sure I've fixed that fault though as my Coolant temp gauge still doesn't rise with a good run. I suppose that's yet another fault...

Thanks for your help though pal. Much appriciated.

No problem. It's interesting that the temp gauge still doesn't work right. This still might be the sender. Depends on the make you bought. I have read that aftermarket ones sometimes don't quite work as they should.. And of course there is no guaranteeing that the new one isn't faulty. I got my new sender from Audi. The other thing could be the thermostat. If it is stuck open, the engine will take an absolute age to get to temperature, because all of the coolant will always be running through the radiator and will never have chance to get warmed up properly.

Maybe worth checking too.

Is Bristol to far?
Try Tim Fowler he owns an 1.6 FSi

Bristol isn't too far at all. I may well give him a shout. Presumably he's a specialist rather than an Audi garage?
