Hi John thanks for that..spoke to the chief mechanic at Stoke Audi who told me the spring length was the same on all models?? i know the shocks are different, but on the back of that he said changing the a pair i wouldnt probably notice as mine is an se and im not racing it,well i bought the pair of genuine rear springs fitted last night even though different colour to mine and havent noticed any diffrence.Paid £45 delivered for the pair of OE audi bargain...
I'd say I am not very impressed with that chief mechanic. The part catalogue has many color codes for the springs. When shopping for them I see different spring lengths (and thicknesses) for my 1.4 TDI. Engine type and car equipment level matters (e.g. panoramic glass roof)Hi John thanks for that..spoke to the chief mechanic at Stoke Audi who told me the spring length was the same on all models??
Just guessing, maybe he means installed length, rather than free length? Even so, he's still wrong, Sports are a different fitted length, so, not all the same. Hope his boss (senior chief mechanic perhaps) doesn't read this thread!I'd say I am not very impressed with that chief mechanic. The part catalogue has many color codes for the springs. I'd be more concerned with the truth It is not good for anyone if the chief mechanic spouts nonsense to customers when asked for advice. A good boss would correct the behaviour.Just guessing, maybe he means installed length, rather than free length? Even so, he's still wrong, Sports are a different fitted length, so, not all the same.
