sun visor keeps "flopping down"

hi all, our A2 is now showing 173k miles but still drives lovely. One thing that has recently started happening though, is the drivers sun visor when you go over even the smallest bump drops down obscuring your vision - could be dangerous if it happened at the wrong time.

Does anyone know if its possible to tighten them up? or is it worn and needs replacing, if if so how much are they, i found a thread on here saying there is a screw in there somewhere, and that releases it?

any help greatly recieved.

I don't think so, in all probability you will need to replace it.

I don't think it's possible to service the plastic under the clamp section easily, it's very fiddly and I think you have broken that part of it.
I just replaced mine as the first one was broken during the removal from another car during the rebuild of Shoby Car . Their quite fragile so handle with care.
