Thanks to Audi & Mike

I would just like to express my Thanks to Mike for his hard work in relation to the aluminium fatigue issue, this result is an excellent one.
Our A2 is free from this defect but it is fantastic to be part of a community that can achieve so much, these Thanks are also aimed at Audi who do at last appear to be recognising the following the A2 has and are endeavouring to look after this all too often overlooked SUPERmini.

Thanks Mike and Audi

Agreed, thanks Mike, great work, and it also shows just how powerful the internet and forums like this have become.

Ditto!!

Your time, commitment and energy, (channelled in such a postive and gentlemanly way), has recieved the award it deserves and the appreciation of all our members.

I am also one of the fortunate few, (for now), that is not affected by this problem, but I find great comfort in the knowledge that a cost free solution is ready and waiting should I need it.

Well done Mike!!
Well done Audi!!
(We may be gone, but clearly not forgotten).

Regards,

Darren

I'm not a big poster on the site but I have to agree that this is a superb result, well done Mike!:)

Now I need to check my car.

Hmm

I just learned the mysterious Mike's surname by his last post!

Well, I suppose he is not that mysterious if you go to the socials. But I like to think of him as some form of Zorro or Robin Hood character. Fighting the rich (Audi) to help the poor (me).

Anyway. Well done Mike Hill.

Mike Who

Skipton should be like the Stig someone we admire but never really know!
Mike again echo the views of all the keen A2 owners thanks for hanging in and persisting to get a super result for owners.

Fantastic news Mike. I have no idea whether mine warrant the repair (not sure what to look at/for despite it coverage on other threads) Will seek advice on 24th! However, as expressed already, nice to know that if it begins it can be rectified with ease. Thank you Mike and thanks Audi, great little cars you know!

I have to say I agree with all the above.Mine has been done the long way round but still good to know that this fairly major minor hiccup seems to be resolved in everyones favour. Thanks for all your efforts Mike & also Audi UK.

My A2 is free from this defect but it is great to know that should it surface then thanks to Mike it will be sorted out. Mike gives a tremendous amount of time to this club and the effort he has put into getting Audi to address this aluminium problem is no exception and a tremendous achievement.

And yes, thanks as well to Audi for accepting the situation and providing, it seems, a simple admin procedure to get it rectified and without time limit.

Thanks Mike, although having only owned my A2 for less than a year, the support from this club and yourself is second to none.
Thanks
Alan

An excellent result Mike and thankyou for all your time and effort in pursueing this issue on all our behalfs.

Thank you Mike for fighting for all of us A2 owners in a very positive and sensible manner. Another great reason to own this little car and be part of this great community.

Well done.

We use this result for our initiative on that problem in Germany (first for our A2 Club Deutschland members).

But this thread would'nt exist, if Havank would not have posted the link to our forum: http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showpost.php?p=45577&postcount=2 :) And If I did'nt said anything, no one of you would have noticed that problem anyway. :D
.

I agree several people have highlighted and given up a portion of there time to sort a problem. If/when a solution is available many users will benefit, but please lets offer gratitude to the many people that contributed.

A very fair point.
