Today I.....

Visited the Hessisch Oldendorf Classik show near Hameln, Germany. Many classic VWs there, plus a few rare coachbuilt models that I rather liked...

The Karman Ghia must be one of the mosg beautiful cars VAG have ever made.

Darren. I haven't paid much attention to the UP before but that looks really nice. What model is that. I see its a TSI but what power output does it have?

90PS, 3 cylinder turbo. Not bad from an engine weighing in at 89Kg. The 75PS non-turbo version only weighs 68Kg. That's less than me and I only make about 0.5PS, on a good day.....

As per TFG's comments Steve. It is paired with a 5 speed manual and can be had with a DSG if memory serves me correctly. The same engine will feature in the GTI when it lands in January. This variant is mapped to about 113bhp and is partnered to a 6 speed manual. Again, DSG might me an option. I have opted for the High Up spec (top) and added most options.

Today we reminisced about what a fantastic day we had Sunday.
A lovely day at the Manor, thanks for everything Mike & Vonnie.
A F1 style drive home none stop, the best road trip for a long time, thank you Audi.
Watched the Doctor get his first win in over a year, wow, with Cal Crutchlow fourth, more wow.
This was after John Mcphee came good in Moto 3 to grab a stunning 3rd place.
A pizza and a couple of vodkas helped round off a top notch day.
This would not have happened without the ticket from Teresa in the first place ! Thank you.
Graham n Trish.

Spotted this beauty yesterday.

And this morning, I got a call from a totally stranger. He told me that he had found an Audi Coupe quattro typ 85, last registred on me, abandoned in the forest in the middle of Norway. The Audi was stolen from me ten years ago. Sadly, the condition of the car was very poor.

It will replace the Mazda, Mark. Overall I will be saving on PCP, parking charges and fuel. It makes more sense in many ways and means I can pay extra into my mortgage which is my main objective. Yes, I didn't have to choose top spec and nearly all the options, but then I may end up keeping this a long while and want it to be just so. I don't want to use the A2 as a daily driver, keeping it for shows and days out, and I fell in love with the Up! after having one as a courtesy car. Although the cabin is hard plastics, it is solid and reminds me of the A2 in many ways; an obvious choice in the end.

Ahh so that's it then. Good move Darren, one i can fully understand and endorse, getting rid of the noose round ones neck is to be commended. I think i'll look forward to seeing this new car,it certainly looks snazzy.Has it got a heads up display.;) Sorry....... couldn't resist.:p

They had a cardboard cut out of an UP in the showroom the other day.

It it was a "Mock up"

Recieved some pictures of the Coupe quattro today. When I had the car, it was in mint condition with original silver paint, now it looks like this:

The 1.0 TSI is great in the Octavia and will be superb in the Up. It's revvy and though not the quietest, it's a nice thrum. I'm hitting 5.xl /100 in my Octavia with it, so it should be easy to top that in the Up.
