Today I.....

You don’t have to accept a write off, you can just repair it yourself and once liability is confirmed you can claim the parts from the other party.
If the damage is superficial that’s what I would do and thus not ending up with a CAT N car.
How did you go about doing this? The other party has admitted liability... Alison is due to be assessed again by the Insurance Company's Assessor. Kind regards, Stu ?

If the other party has admitted liability I believe you can insist that the car is repaired, that may be a better route to go.

Today I waxed and gave it sooo much love.

Today I tinted and fitted the fog lights then gave it a quick wash. All I need to do now is figure out the correct pin on the back of the switch and where to source it??? Any links to a how to would greatly appreciated. ;)

Well yesterday to be precise.

Tom (Timmus) fitted Cruise / DIS / Sport 3 spoke wheel to my Crystal Blue car.

No need to shout again about Tom's technical expertise which is fully recognized on here - but another thing that was fascinating to watch was the way in which Tom knows all the places to pull on the various trim pieces to result in immediate removal without broken clips. Well of course he would given the number of jobs he does each year - but it was certainly educational for me!

DIS confirmed mid 40's mpg on a mixture of congested driving around Staines / M25 / A21 which I think is reasonable for 1.4 petrol with 1990's engine technology!

... collected and fitted a set of pepper pots to my TDi 75. The rims are in great condition having been reconditioned last year and are pretty much unmarked, they came with a matching set of usable Toyo Proxes too which is nice but they are not the perfect size, 195/50/15 which is going to make the speedo over read a bit more, but with that and the reduced weight acceleration should be improved! When the tyres are replaced I'll go back to the "correct" size (in my opinion) which is 175/65/15.

As part of the deal I also got about seven genuine centre caps which would benefit from some refusbishment, but four of which are acceptable. In addition I also got a bit of a surprise, a fifth spare pepper pot rim only, which hasn't been refurbed but isn't in bad nick either - no curbing. My garage is starting to look like a tyre shop ...

In an attempt to get to the bottom of the occasional warm start problem I replaced the fuel temp sensor and just for fun decided to examine the sender unit from the tank which turned out to be a rather messy business - it wasn't blocked with anything so it's good to rule that out.
