I've got a rear carpet in my breaker which I can cut up if Ian can't help. I'll be back Weds or Thurs next week, let me know.
Probably easier to use yours as you’ll know where it is. I can collect at the same time as the cup holder and take to Paul when I make my next visit to get my undertray refitted.

Picked up new a2 yesterday just gave her a polish so so pleased it must be one of the lowest milage a2s in uk now 12,704
The reg was on her a2 love you ?....View attachment 54683View attachment 54687
That's a beauty. Are any of the tyres original or have they all been changed? I know the recommendation is change after 6 years but you see the odd low mileage motor still on original rubber after many more years than that.

It had the 15” lightweight mirror Finnish but they were tarnished and tyres perished so I had this set of 17” restored with nice Bridgestone potenza ..I have ordered a new set of centre caps from Audi +£140 ouch ? but will Finnish off ..I have however a set of the wheels it came out the factory with so I could get refinished and fit .. there is a small mark on the wheel arch but that means lacquering whole arch ..? no I will leave and edge of door mirror but rather than paint I’m going to leave original as well ...

Visited WOM Automotive for the first time.

Main reason was to collect a set of Pepperpots from Neil.

Whilst en route from work to Stoke my exhaust started to blow. Soon as I arrive Marcus checked out the problem and had it on the ramps in minutes. Quick welding procedure and all was cured.

An absolutely massive thanks to Rob and Marcus for taking the time to address my exhaust just before closing time.

Kind regards,

Tom

That's insane low mileage! about 750pa. Wish I had spotted that, especially if petrol. Just goes to show these very low mileage A2s do lurk out there. Hope you enjoyed it and not too afraid to use it!

I have to say Alan I’m afraid I’m not going to use this one it’s a time capsule a museum piece really ..so it’s going into a dehumidified garage ..for a few years out for mot only and oil change ..I have another one we use daily there are plenty of 80k to 200k + cars very few like this would be a shame to use it ...I know that’s quite controversial saying this ..it would be boring if we were all the same ..

I have to say I agree with you bud

If I owned the car I would lock it up in a garage and just bring it out for a oil change and MOT

Maybe now and again take her out for a small journey but nothing else :)

Thanks Louis Today did the outside including detailing engine bay ..over next couple of weeks I will have it jacked Up wheels off and do the same underneath ..a good tip if you use fine wire wool and scotchbrite with lots of wd40 and I use bit of paraffin any steel surface rust will disappear and come up nice without doing any damage ...

Ooo I didn’t know that :)

Just wondering are you ever thinking of selling the private plate as I like it :);)

Today I hosted Tom (@timmus) and Scott (@cheechy) for a multiple hour demonstation of Tom's technical and multitasking expertise simultaneously fitting a brace of colour DIS, cruise, a normal DIS and some headlight connectors to four of the 5 A2s that spent the day on my driveway. Wonderful meeting Scott, and Tom is - as everyone I can think of has stated - both a gentleman and an artisan when it comes to the electrical side of our vehicles.

Finally, after today's effort and their response I believe that I may have invented a working recipe involving the unusual combination of bacon and rolls. Doubt it's going to catch on, mind you.

Yup good to meet and I reckon the roll and bacon idea will require some fairly intensive testing before it's ready for the public If I'm honest.

Fitted another machined out egr to an AMF this morning
Got another two here to machine

Then completed the fitting of the grey leather heated seats into my tdi including fitting A4 heated seat switches into the centre console wings (as my A2 is rather unique in that it as a double din dash but not climate) There is no room for the seat switches on the manual heater control panel hence fitting into the wings
My A2 is now back together with cleaned black carpet set

I do really like the combination of the grey leather with grey plastic trim and black carpets Car feels light and airy compared to the black seats and grey carpet but I had black mats and black rubber mats on top so little of the grey carpet was on show
Tomorrow to start on the 1.4 petrol
