Thank you but unfortunately I'm going to have to kindly decline the dinner invitation at yours tonight as something has come up! ?Today I created a new life form using soapy water, A2 bits and a bit of electricity. View attachment 66599

I’d have to kill it before I cooked it. Not sure it’s life as we know it so perhaps the It may not be too nutritional. A bit of curry powder should have taste sorted? Chips or mash?Thank you but unfortunately I'm going to have to kindly decline the dinner invitation at yours tonight as something has come up! ?
Today I had new discs, pads, callipers, drums and shoes fitted...and, maybe controversially, have painted them...
My justifications for this are as follows:
1. I am 44 and not really bothered what people think of me anymore ?
2. This is the first car I have owned where I have done anything other than ‘factory’ changes to it (my alloys are now a non Audi colour)
And 3: I like the colour!
I like, but 'apparently' you don't care what I think ? Even so, for what it's worth, I think it looks great.
This is getting a bit deeply philosophical.Deep down I care what people think ?
Is that painted or directly out of the electrolys? Looks good.Today I looked at a couple of bits of rust converted Iron and thought; yes, pleased with that.View attachment 66778

Version.... 3? Of the 165mm speaker adapters are close to done. Need to confirm they will fit correctly before I make some more - there's lots of movement possible, I just don't have standard door cards so cannot test. Need a volunteer.... the ground zero 165s fit perfectly, even with their crossover attached to the terminals. Pencil for scale. The skin also flexes when not screwed in, so there's some slightly oversize holes for the screws. The skin is also seriously damped.

I had a problem with these two items flash rusting, it’s been very humid recently. They went back in to convert the orange dusty look. Came out black, dried with a towel, into the oven to fully dry, wire brushed then etch primed. Is that painted or directly out of the electrolys? Looks good.

Good tip thank you, I have some phosphoric acid. I'll dilute some and use it as a dip after electrolytic. They really do look good.
I remember trying acid dipping some panels in (I think) citric acid which has a few advantages. What was amazing though was the flash-rust speed: literally as you withdrew the panel. I can't remember how I resolved it (I know I did), but remember the frustration as they were rare panels, customer owned and the blaster had already made a poor job, hence trying to recover the situation.
I now use phosphoric acid (40/60 with tap water) and that leaves a protective coating (iron phosphate possibly??). It's fantastic stuff.
Available on eBay I buy the 95% pure I think. Works well. I'm spraying it onto panels and then wipe off excess later on, evaporate this off the cloth which ends up on the bonfire. Not sure how you'd dispose of it as a fluid though, which was the advantage of citric.

I would expect better bass. They are also only 3 ohm, so a nice load for most amps and they were cheaper (and more available) than the Etons I was originally looking at. Titanium tweeter shouldn't be too harsh, bit will have to listen. You have me salivating here, very interested to know more!
Although i've never heard of these speakers or indeed even knew about them, they use the same cone technology that was pioneered by Monitor Audio back in the early nineties. Very much looking forward to seeing this project progress.
Will these be comparable with the A2 Bose system?
Everybody loves an FSI ?to I...…. got asked by my boss if I want to sell him my a2 fsi
