Today I.....

Unfortunately dealers usually add +50% to everything and even saving on packaging
Hopefully it's gonna solve the wandering temp issue though, otherwise it's a thermostat job and I wasted my money now.
BTW I've just checked it and I'd payed Β£49+p 2 weeks ago, and now it's Β£59+p!! I recommend waiting a bit for the price drop or getting it from else where tbf. Good to see the brand marks on it, but that is really high price.

Thanks. Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a manufacturers name anywhere that I can see which is a shame (pierburg, Gates etc) as it would have prevented others paying the premium from the dealers that @Stan H mentions above πŸ‘

Forgot to mention that as part of the contract to supply we had to remove all of our i.d. from our products to them.

Yes, have seen that a lot, same parts with the brand ground off or sometimes the brand on and the Audi rings ground off πŸ‘

But but.... there are no pictures..? πŸ™‚
Not yet! Needs a deep clean and assessment before I decide what to do with it. Short MOT and the long drive back shows it need new disks, door strap and a pollen filter. No odd noises and goes well 140k . Odd spec though. Sports wheel and gearstick. Double din radio small dis.false floor, front fogs. Soul interior but with red leather SE seats. LY9B paint code
Possibly a breaker but will know more tomorrow.

Sounds like a double-DIN SE from the factory on which someone subsequently changed all the easy-to-upgrade bits. Hope it's a good 'un for you.

I forgot to post these pictures the other day... Alison has had a replacement Intercooler fitted with thanks to Faircrouch Garage, Wadhurst. They helped us out a lot.

Anyhoo; mileage update:

Also, due to some Workplace Stress and a Hosepipe Ban- resolved and lifted respectively- Alison wasn't as good as she might be cosmetically.

So.a couple of days ago, she had her first clean for goodness knows how long!

Autoglym engine and machine cleaner is very good and shifted the grime in the wheel arches with consummate ease.

No polish, as I plan to have some paint and body done at some point soon.

Did you brush the engine cleaner in or just spray and rinse? I’ve just had some delivered ready for new tandem pump work.

On a cold engine, I spray the product onto the engine avoiding Alternator and Starter Motor.

I then use the hosepipe to rinse off. Start engine and allow to warm up and dry off slowly.

Have been doing this at least twice a year for about nine years.

😎

There's nothing on it, no brand apart from the logos.
I've decided to get this one, because the 1st aftermarket sensor barely reached 70C, the 2nd aftermarket one didn't even fit the plug and the 3rd seems working best so far, but had to use old ring wiith it and the temp still only reaches 90C when the car is stationary.
I'll change it over weekend and see what difference does it make.

If you want reliable sensors and thermostat then you REALLY NEED TO BUY GENUINE OEM.

If they save you several gallons of fuel over a few years then they have paid for themselves compared to the cheap aftermarket ones.

I found this:

...after this popped up on my News Feed:

I drove the above near launch. I was new to cars and it was certainly better in feel than my Ka.

Many years later, I travelled in another and actually felt motion sickness. The pitching of the suspension felt bloody awful!

I got this one straight from Audi, I assume it can't be more oem and expensive than this, but as long as it work as it should, I'm okay with that.

Any idea who it's actually made by as it obviously won't be Audi themselves?
Is there a manufacturers name on it other than the Audi rings as it would be good to know for others in the future who don't want to / can't afford to spend Β£50 on a temperature sender?
Don't you just love main dealer parts prices btw πŸ™„ and the plastic bags πŸ˜‚
Fingers crossed it resolves your problem and works as intended πŸ‘
Hi, From the name moulded in the plastic it's Cebi ( ELTH ) of Luxembourg, variants are offered on eBay https://www.cebi.com/en/history
