Nice to see a last of the line 55 plateToday I finally washed my A2. Also a quick run up and down the drive to make sure the gears and brakes work (all good), and it's booked in for a set of Goodyear's and an MOT on Wednesday

They look interesting George. What car were they originally fitted to from the factory, or are they aftermarket? Are they still comparatively light compared to e.g. the standard 6-spokes?

A8d2, about 7.5kg, about the same as a lot of the A8d2 winter wheels, so not as lightweight as 15ā pepperpots. Itās all personal but I do prefer the look to 15ā pepperpots

Yes I'm thinking they look a nicer style, because of the need for adapters they'd always sit properly out in the arches too.Today I got my car MOT'd - clean pass after sorting a couple of issues. However, it seems that my handbrake is sticking. The nearside rear brake was an issue when I got the car and caused problems today at the test but I managed to get it sorted; turned out it was an adjustment issue that I fixed there and then, but after a drive home to try out everything else, both rear drums are āhot.
I have replacement cables for both sides but not the centre, so will replace these over the weekend and hope that cures the issue.

I should have added that the new suspension, 185/60/15 Goodyear's and the MZN box have completely transformed the drive, it feels tight with no slack anywhere, but very comfy, and the ratios are so much better - 2200rpm in 5th at 70 is perfect.

Hi Stan, I got them from Kwik Fit, with a 10% code the set came to Ā£335. The Goodyear's seem to be the best summer tyres for the money in this size.
Not like it used to be a few years ago when they would have been about Ā£60 each. Turns out buying tyres is a great way to make me feel old

Well this week I fitted the Meyle thermostat (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381752535248) I bought in December along with the new temperature sensor from https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171011609447 so hopefully that should settle the low temperature fluctuations. Some fresh Castrol and a new filter fitted sees it fairly well serviced for this year following its pre MOT work. Now just an N75 to source and fit till the next scan. This has allowed me to refit the under tray with new clips and screws, fitted the Webasto tail pipe, top engine cover back on and some additional fixings on the rattily exhaust shields. So yes @CrispyEdd I've got the other one

Having had the CB500X, Yeti, Motorhome and A2 all serviced and MOTd in the last 6 weeks the wallet needs a breather but was pleased to see our local Esso with diesel at Ā£1.39 today so filled up. Hoping for a happy A2 summer.

It was only 30p a litre when we lived in Plympton but that was when Tesco opened there 4th UK store in Ivybridge.
