It's not bad, perhaps a bit frustrating Audi didn't do blue leather & alcantara because it would be a bit grippier but there you go...or maybe better still black leather bolsters with blue alcantara inserts such as the ones in Passats/S3s Still, dreaming there...
Another whinge; they're not heated
Oh and another, how did they manage sport seats but se gearknob?!
On a positive note (!) what are the chances of a split rear seat and electric rear window doorcards when you need them
The seats are in but I haven't fitted the door cards or gearknob yet because I can't decide if they really need a blue wheel to work or if the black doorcards and 'knob work better with the black wheel. I also can't decide if I prefer a black sport 'knob to the blue one...
Also annoyingly I have a pair of brand new Audi rear carpets with blue edging but can't get hold of any fronts
I also have the urge to get some alloys colour coded to the leather but for that to work I think they would have to be at least 17" to look right (brings me back to the 17" Fuchs replicas) so that probably won't happen!
I've got an idea to try trimming down a TT climate panel to fit as well to get rid of the worn buttons, the one I saw t'other day didn't have the soft finish and so hsdn't worn 8)
All this yet I wanted and still want a diesel. At this rate I'll probably end ip looking at an engine swap rather than selling
I think the blue door panels would look great..... Although ii am not a fan of blue gearknob, handbrake and steering wheel. Just looks a bit too much. Keep it black imo
I've just thought of a possible half-way solution though equally rare; mk4 Golf Colour Concept steering wheel. They're three spoke ones in black leather with iirc colour-coded stitching, so a Jazz Blue car would have blue stitching
I'm fairly sure a TT climate would plug in and work because I'm fairly sure they all sure the same plug configuration. I started this train of thought when comparing mine to a VW Climatronic panel and thinking of people trimming panels to suit double din conversions.. Having just thought of that I guess something from a Seat would plug in and be red illumination as well.
My train of thinking also goes that if the TT fits, the dials would match the look of a Blaupunkt Woodstock or similar. I don't think a Woodstock works with a Phatnoise though (that's another job still to do).
I'm not sure if I'll go back to the cloth seats or not yet but you've got first refusal
a brand new leather four spoke wheel in Mauritus Blue, I think it's from an A6 and I think it'll be darker than the seats but only one way to find out...
a brand new double din dash, if only it came with an RNS-E.
Oh and a pair of heated black cloth seat bases. They're for standard seats though so I doubt they'll be of any use unless the heater elements are pads and not woven into the fabric.
I guess I'm going to have to keep this one for a while now
I've found some heater pads from various Audis for £15-£20 each
I need to look into it more but they should have suitable plugs on them to help things along but getting that done is a long way off yet, first of all I want to find some blue piping to put round the rubber mats
