Information Unidentified plastic pipe?

I'm interested to find out the purpose of the flexible plastic pipe that runs from the air intake area just before MAP sensor where it tees off the main pipe & runs across the slam panel on the front of the car where it appears to be capped off/ blank.http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/121816375835

I'm trying to identify the small pipe attached to the main air hose in this picture in the link
On my car it is attached to the front slam panel & appears to have a manufactured blanking cap fitted.

It has to be some form of air vacuum hose because there,s so certainly no water in there.

I presumed it was just where dealers plugged vacume gauges or such to test for boost preasure or leaks in the system as mines capped off aswell but could be a design feature to alter presure in someway .

I though I'd solved it, just thought may be the air supply to the Webasto heater that had been disconnected but if others are like it then it may not be.
