sorry for the late reply, just back from a break.
The Garage couldn't get access to the upper/lower inlet manifold bolts and we needed to know how to do that urgently however, after much stripping down and moving the engine we managed to access the lower inlet manifold, it's a swine of a job if you've not got a ramp and octopus arms or a couple of guys to hold parts out the way while you undo the bolts, anyway it's done and the car run's perfectly now.
I can't believe how much replacing the lower inlet manifold has changed the performance, it's quite staggering actually.
I bought a good used L.I.Manifold plus all vacuum/sensor parts from ebay for £20 delivered and cleaned it to a very high standard before fitting, I was lucky with the price by the looks.
