VCDS For Transporter T5.1/T6 Owners

After having my A2 fettled by Tom (Timmus) a couple of months ago where one of the things he did was enable auto door locking I thought I would ring my local VW Commercial dealer to see if they would do the same to our 2015 Transporter Kombi Highline. I was amazed to be told that VW have removed that option on the latest vans. At first it didn't sound correct but a quick Google search seems to support what I was told.

Are there any T5.1/T6 owners on here who have managed to find a work around to enable this feature on their van?

I may be wrong but I think the only modules that can be control/ accessed via vcds is the engine & gearbox as the rest are Mercedes star based as
They are made in the Mercedes factory, more info on Ross tech website.
