(Brief mention in the technical forum pages of the latest issue of Volkswagen Driver about this.)

Volkswagen has developed a 1.4-litre FSI engine which is both turbo- and supercharged and develops 170 PS (!) (there will also be a 140 PS version)

Will make its debut next year in a Golf GT

We'll be reporting on it in detail in the October issue of Volkswagen Driver, following a technical seminar at Wolfsburg next week

Cracking idea. Volkswagen have been working on this theory for some time. Good to see it finally coming out.

It'll develop about 240Nm from 1700 rpm and redline at 7000 rpm.

Drives like a 2.3 litre car, but delivers about 50mpg!!!

It'll appear alongside a 170PS Golf GT TDI!!

Some good stuff coming from Wolfsburg over the next year or so.

Wonder if it will fit in an A2?

1.4 Petrol Special Edition, Ebony Black, grey leather, heated seats, climate, opensky, five spoke alloys for SWMBO (Replaced a 2002 1.4 Petrol SE) Honda Accord Tourer 2.2 iCDTi for me.
 
I was also wondering this. Sounds like a recipe for some fun, although I assume brakes, suspension and possibly transmission would also need a bit of minor fettling!! Anyone out there brave enough to give this a try??
