Water leak from reservoir hose attached to side of engine (pic's and video)

Hoping someone can help to identify this part and problem from my16 FSI

The problem started with a slow leaking of water that gradually progressed until I could hear and see the water leaking when the car was running at normal temperature (hissing and spitting from where the hose attaches to the body).

After a closer inspection and gentle wiggling of the hose where it attaches the engine the hose fell away and what ever was holding it in place also fell away, as it was perished and broken.

So the question is what is this hose, what kind of connection should it have and what does it connect too.

The hose is thin and comes from the upper part of the water reservoir to a Y connection then branches off towards the right hand side of the engine.
It then attaches to the right hand side of the engine about a third of the way down and is just out of eye sight below a larger hose and some electrical wire's.

Thanks in advance

looking at the hose end there and the position of the break I'd be suspicious that a new thermostat housing may be needed as well as the hose.
I've had a longstanding FSi slow leak only resolved by replacement of many components (at 110K miles) Radiator, Header tank, the hose / Y- piece you've found broken thermostat housing adn clips / o-rings to rear coolant pipe. This also provided a new Coolant temp sensor, and no problems since.

Hi guys

Look like I have a similar problem on my 1.4 petrol.
According to the mechanic, I need a new coolant regulator, part 29 on the diagram.
This £89+VAT + labour and nobody has one in stock.
How can I confirm this is the part leaking and not the hose?

All help appreciated.

Cheers
