Many thanks for your help with the coolant system I think I have solved the problems, however I ask do you know the link for the gentleman in Germany who purchases parts for members. My garage tried to buy a part but was told that Audi shop doesn't ship to UK.

Brian, if you can provide the part number and a picture or a description, there is a good chance that one of our ethical recyclers of A2's can provide you with a second-hand part in good working condition.

This has surely got to be worth a try before buying extortionately-priced 'new old stock' parts from Audi Tradition in Germany and getting them specially shipped over here. Although @Rickmeister's very kind offer of help to do this sort of thing for Club members is greatly appreciated

Thanks to all Rickmeister has ordered the part and is sending it to me. I have bought a full set of coolant hoses from a scrapper. My garage said there are good and bad and when I get the one's I need I have the part numbers for those I still need. Many thanks for all those posting I will come back to you all if I require further help.
