With a previous owner, my A2 gained a dent underneath and there is some metal showing. Luckily this is under the passenger footwell cubbyhole, so I can easily push the panel back to its original shape by pressing down from above.
I plan on tidying up the surface and then painting and undersealing. Problem for me is what paint or treatment to use.
My local Halfords-like shop has some alternative to primer and coloured paint:
- liquid galvanisation. Its says on the can: no need for undercoat, use on steel or aluminium
- underseal: a flexible tar-based product, not sure whether this can do straight onto metal.
Anyone know about the A2's paintwork? Is the body galvanised?
If I use the spray can of "liquid galvanisation" could I get some reaction with the alu?
