My TDI is affectionately called LSP (Lumpy Space Princess) sometimes Lumpy for short

Just re read this thread and now feel a bit bad that I’ve rechristened this car! I do think Tonka suits better than Lumpy though.

When I announced at home that I just had bought the number five A2 (a silver 1.2TDI) our daughter commented "are you Psycho?". Actually this was said in Swedish but the more english term Psycho was indeed there.
So that became the name of the car.

Mines called "Pootle" because I got it for Pootling about on local miles for school run and shops etc, I have other cars for Towing/ Track etc, so Pootle is for very specific Pootle tasks,

Now that I no longer have my yellow Storm (unsurprising called 'the Storm') I need a name for its replacement, which was formerly @Darren C's gorgeous Cobalt Blue FSI. Continuing on the theme of colour-related from Crystal my TDI, and feminine(-ish), I'm thinking she's got the poise to get away with just her initials, 'CB'. Also stands for Christmas and Birthday which are both very close to the date I bought her. Not being at all inexpensive, she will have to serve as my present to myself for both occasions for many years to come.

Mine has been rechristened - @Dave M chose the name Merlin (any reason why Dave)? @YorkshireHill stuck with that, as was I - but my kids insisted on the sex change when my brother-in-law first drove the car and likened it to a "souped up granny wagon" in front of them!

Alphie. Didn't realise for a long time that I'd named it. I'd always give out the number plate phonetically as mine is A2 FLJ - the F often gets confused with S. So maybe after so long of saying Alpha 2... that's where it came from? I don't know how my brain works either, that's why I rarely use it.
