wheel scuff fixing?

I'm about to have two of my wheels dipped/stripped and re-furbished, been told around £70. Does anyone know what the correct paint colour code is?Mine are the 17" RS4 style...

This extract from a mail posted by SnubNose in 2006 gives the Avus Silver paint spec

''The Paint has arrived from Audi – Avus Silver with a part number of LLS 0M6 Z17 which is a 2 part set (Paint & Lacquer) that cost £11.19. On my 16” SE - 6 Spoke alloys it’s not a bad match – so the Avus Silver must be the correct colour.''

Cheers Spike

Thanks Spike. I'll probably get the 2 wheels sent off next week. They've been repaired before (by the original owner) but the colour is slightly darker and dull compared to the off side set. The laquer has also crazed badly. So going for a full tyre off strip/dip and refurb.

I've found Diamond Silver to be the perfect match for all Audi and Volkswagen wheels. Buy it from a Skoda dealer and it's also probably cheaper!

Hi A2 Sport,
I must doff my cap to your "scuffing" abilities, that wheel is a masterclass in how to scuff
Look after those shiney new alloys :D

lol - look at them wheels! How long before they get back to that state! I have a lady owner that had mine before me - typical town lady parker.

Im in belfast, so any one local?

Now now chaps!

The 17" wheels are very easy to kerb, especially with 205 tyres like A2sport has - I used to have to get a taxi to the pavement, but still managed to nick the wheels!

Cheers,

Mike

lol - I was only messing about - I park like skipton - 1 mile away from the kerb, then in some cases, I get back in the car and repark it cause its so shockingly out in the middle of the road!!!

Im wondering:

Is there two treatments here: Dipping and rebuffing or Just rebuffing?
