Where to get a replacement fuel tank strap

My fuel tank strap is corroded and broken.
I have looked online but can't find one, anyone know where to get one?

Give Glasgow Audi a ring for a price then compare with TPS. I think TPS have an outlet over your way.

Edit: Glasgow East end your closest TPS so still a fair trek. Maybe drop Tom @CreweAudi a private message see what they can do for you mail order?

Thanks TPS is not far from where I work, it's easy for me to pick stuff up from there.

Again make sure you get the correct strap for your tank. They are different on the 2 sizes of tank.

I got the strap on Saturday but have not had the chance to look at it until today. It looks like the wrong part - On a visual check the old strap looks like a flat bottomed U shape whereas the strap that was sent looks like an L shape with a bent leg.
Is it possible that you need to bend it to shape to fit it?

Here's a picture of the new strap:-

It looks like it would have to be bent into place to fit my tank. Would that be the correct procedure?

I am not sure which size tank you have. I would check the part number of the new strap (item 20) using

When you ordered from Tom at Crewe Audi did you provide your reg.?

Bending into place does not sound right.

Yes, I have seen that diagram and it is not clear what shape the strap is but it looks like it is a flat bottomed U shape that comes vertically up either side from what I can tell looking at it under the car.
Yes, I agree the 7zap diagram does not show shape but the parts list does show the part numbers for the 34l and 42l tanks. Again which is it and what is yours?

Looking at your picture with the strap having had four precisely formed bends it does not make sense that you then have to bend it more to fit, surely it would have been completely preformed in the first place.

I would say something is wrong and query with Tom.
