Was wondering who has the highest total miles on their A2s or highest average per month since new... I'm standing at 40769 miles at the moment... :( But that is because it is 50 miles to work, 50 back and makes 2264 average a month from new!!!!!!!! (though that includes thousands of miles in France and other driving holidays as well and not just work thankfully!)

Though is doesn't cut it selling time, my dad always says that motorway miles are far better than city miles, as the car is relaxed and fully heated up etc... the worst for a car are these little trips less than 4 or 5 miles where the engine does not heat up properly and all the moisture in the system does not get a chance to evaporate from the exhaust etc... so I'd rather buy a 2nd hand car with 40000 motorway miles than 15000 city miles... BUT how do you know that when you see it on the shop floor? You don't, so unfortunately miles are all that count these days... and mine will count heavily against me one day... but alas, I'd rather enjoy all the miles I do, than be in a horrible little car where I don't mind miles...

The car is 12 months old now, and the mileage is at 39.950 km.
So that equals 3329 km or 2068 miles per month.

Not bad...

Haven't done that many in the A2. 6 months old now and have done almost 4000.

As a comparison, my A4 is 5 years old and only has 38000 on the clock.

I'm a low mileage person if I can help it.

I use my car for visiting customers different places in Denmark. So I spent a lot of time in my car.
Distance per year: 60.000 - 75.000 km. Thats more than 5000 km per month. Thats why I drive a 3liter car ;)
Some of my colleaques are driving petrolcars that uses 8-10 liters per 100 km. You can imaginge the smile of my face, when we collect the bill from Shell ;)))

Mostly work .... I work for HP as a Microsoft Specialist. So I make visits to customers. Last week I drove about 1000 km....

Luckily the company provides me with a nice car to make all those km's in...

My A2 has done 58,000 miles, and still drives like new.

Bought my A2 as an ex demo with 3000 miles on it in Oct 2001. Now has 23,000 miles on it.

I seem to be doing just over 1000 miles a month (20 miles each way to work, 50-60 per weekend + a few thousand every summer around Europe/weekends away)....still love every minute of it though!

Sadly though, I have the displeasure of driving my wife's crappy old Rover as my A2 is garaged until Thursday's brake check! (I had a look at them last night and the front pads were alarmingly low).

At least you get a warning their low could be very expensive if it was down to the metal. (new discs)

Our A2 has done 5,000 in 8 months but the Passat has done 75,000 in 36 months - better to put the miles on the company car!
