I didn't read it all, but the whole industry of warranties is under investigation I think, you can get them so much cheaper eslewhere and I never get one at time of purchase...

Get the Norwich Union one-a monthly of about £11 and it cover nearly all electrical items for the first 5 years of their life (also an 8 year option). I've had it for a few years, made a few claims-always had good service.
