Xcarlink delay when using iPhone navigation over bluetooth

I have had my Xcarlink fitted for about a year. Since it was installed there is a delay when using iPhone navigation over bluetooth with no other audio entertainment source. If I am listening to music or radio (BBC iPlayer) over bluetooth the navigation voice interrupts and I hear the entire navigation instruction. If I am not playing any entertainment, I miss the first part of the navigation instruction.

I wonder if this is peculiar to my installation?

I am using an iPhone 6S with either Apple Maps of Google Maps for navigation.

Funnily enough, I don't think you're alone - I thought exactly the same thing when in my wife's car the other day. This was using a Samsung Galaxy S6 with Google Maps.
