Yellow A2 tragedy

I asked them to do that but they’re a big outfit and they were not interested. They just go for quick turnover. Also I’m 180 miles away and it’s a landrover and trailer journey so unless it was an interesting one I wouldn’t go for it.
But another yellow lost…..

What a pity. A few years back I pondered how many lovely A2s were lost to the scrappage scheme as values were very low at the time 😥

Had a similar experience at a yard in Fife. Got some door cards, handbrake lever and door check straps from one they had in and rear false floor supports and bootliners from another. Went back for the wiper arm, glovebox and cupholders and they had crushed the best one.
As far as they are concerned its a big lump of aluminium which is much more lucrative than a big lump of steel.

That's not the case, they weight them in with ferrous metal unless the shell has been completely stripped clean.

I once had a scrap guy who set fire to one in a container so that only the clean alu was left, not thinking that aluminium melts. He was left with a melted mess at the bottom of his shipping container. Not the brightest of sparks.
